Despite the yearly festivities of gorging onesself on various meats and sweets and enjoying beating up on cousins and siblings (some families play card games, we prefer physical comedy and one-upping each other with classics such as "football to the groin") there is one thing I don't care for during the holidays: getting sick! Late last night I developed a rough feel in the back of my throat but by this morning I couldn't even talk. That was just the beginning, it went downhill the rest of the day. Had to text into work to geta replacement for my shift, in theory I should do the same for tomorrow. But like many of us, I can't afford (literally) to not be going to work.

Thanksgiving was pretty good overall, and we had great weather for it too. I think the weatherman said we had 25 days this month that were above normal highs. So being the productive people that we are the meal was brief and we spent the rest of the day outdoors working. Actually, there were two Thanksgiving meals. The first one was the traditional turkey with the majority of my family, the second was Sunday with my sister and her boyfriend and involved duck and roast beef.
